At Northdown Primary School, our goal is for every child to become a fluent, confident reader who develops a lifelong passion for reading.

Reading regularly—or being read to—unlocks countless worlds of imagination and discovery. Most importantly, it equips children with the skills to become independent, lifelong learners.

We strive to achieve this by:

• Using the Read Write Inc. (RWI) programme to support your child’s reading journey.
• Cultivating a love for books by reading to children daily, both at school and at home.
• Providing access to a wide variety of books to inspire and engage young readers.

At Northdown, we use Read Write Inc. Phonics to give every child the strongest possible foundation in reading and writing.
